Introduction :

The International Association For The Study Of Lung Cancer (“we”) respect the privacy of its users (“you”) and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Mobile App Privacy Policy (the “Policy”). This Policy describes:

  • the types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you download, install, register with, access, or use The Pain Management Assistant (the “App”); and
  • our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

    Information We Collect:

    When you interact with us through the App, we may collect Personal Data, Confidential Data, and other information from you, as further described below:

    Personal Data that you provide through the App: We collect Personal Data from you when you voluntarily provide such Personal Data, such as when you contact us with inquiries, when you provide such information to us, or when you use the App. This Personal Data may include, but is not limited to, first and last name, email address, street address, and telephone number, as applicable.

    By voluntarily providing us with Personal Data, you are consenting to our use of such Personal Data in accordance with this Policy. If you provide Personal Data through the App, you acknowledge and agree that such Personal Data may be transferred from your current location to our offices and servers and the authorized third parties referred to herein located in the United States.

    Confidential Data that you provide through the App: We collect Confidential Data from you when you voluntarily provide such information, such as when you use the App. This Confidential Data includes, but is not limited to medication information.
    By voluntarily providing us with Confidential Data, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Policy. If you provide Confidential Data through the App, you acknowledge and agree that such Confidential Data may be transferred from your current location to our offices and servers and the authorized third parties referred to herein located in the United States.

  • Usage Details. When you access and use the App, we may automatically collect certain details of your access to and use of the App, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the App.
  • Device Information. We may collect information about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device’s unique device identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type, mobile network information, and the device’s telephone number.
  • Stored Information and Files. The App also may access metadata and other information associated with other files stored on your device. This may include, for example, photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts, and address book information.
  • Our Use of Your Personal Data, Confidential Data, and Other Information:

    If you provide Personal Data or Confidential Data for a certain reason, we may use the Personal Data or Confidential Data in connection with the reason for which it was provided. Also, if you provide Personal Data or Confidential Data in order to obtain access to the App, we will use your Personal Data or Confidential Data to provide you with access to the App and to monitor your use of the App. For instance, we use your email for account validation and for password recovery. We may also use your Personal Data and other non-identifiable information collected through the App to help us improve the content and functionality of the services provided therein. We may also use your Personal Data or Confidential Data to notify you when App updates are available, and of any changes to the services we offer through it. We may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about services we believe will be of interest to you. If we do so, each marketing communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to “opt out” of receiving future marketing communications. In addition, if at any time you wish not to receive any future marketing communications or you wish to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, please email us at education@iaslc.org.

    Our Disclosure of Your Personal Data and Other Information:

    We are not in the business of selling your information. We consider this information to be a vital part of our relationship with you. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data and Confidential Data with certain third parties without further notice to you, as set forth below:

    Agents, Consultants, and Other Third Parties: We sometimes hire other companies to perform certain functions on our behalf. An example of such functions includes emails sent through third-party email service providers. When we employ another entity to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function.

    Legal Requirements: We may disclose your Personal Data or Confidential Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect and defend our rights or property, (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the App, or the public, or (iv) protect against legal liability.

    Data Security:

    We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

    The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our App, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

    Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through our App. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide.]

    Exclusions:

    This Policy does not apply to any Personal Data or Confidential Data collected by us other than Personal Data and Confidential Data collected through the App. This Policy shall not apply to any Unsolicited Information you provide to us through the App or through any other means. This includes, but is not limited to, information posted to any public areas of the App, such as forums, any ideas for new products or modifications to the App, and other unsolicited submissions (collectively, “Unsolicited Information”). All Unsolicited Information shall be deemed to be non- confidential and we are free to reproduce, use, disclose, and distribute such Unsolicited Information to others without limitation or attribution.

    Children:

    Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to use the App. No one under the age of 13 may provide any Personal Data or Confidential Data to or on the App. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data or Confidential Data from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on the App, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce our Policy by instructing their children never to use the App or provide Personal Data or Confidential Data to us. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data or Confidential Data to us through the App, please contact us at education@iaslc.org, and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete that information from our databases.

    Links to Third Party Web Sites:

    This Policy applies only to the App. The App may contain links to other third party web sites not operated or controlled by us (the “Third Party Sites”). The policies and procedures we describe here do not apply to the Third Party Sites. The links from the App do not imply that we endorse or have reviewed the Third Party Sites. We suggest contacting those Third Party Sites directly for information on their privacy policies and practices.

    Changes to this Policy:

    The App may change from time to time. As a result, at times it may be necessary for us to make changes to this Policy. We reserve the right to update or modify this Policy at any time and from time to time without prior notice to you. Please review this Policy periodically, and especially before you provide any Personal Data or Confidential Data. This Policy was last updated on the date indicated above. Your continued use of the App after any changes or revisions to this Policy indicates your agreement with the terms of such revised Policy.

    To keep your Personal Data or Confidential Data accurate, current, and complete, please contact us as specified below. We will take reasonable steps to update or correct Personal Data or Confidential Data in our possession that you have previously submitted via the App.
